Victims of Violence
An immediate consequence of women being portrayed as sexual objects, is their being portrayed as victims of violence, and particularly victims of sexual crimes. When this kind of violence is seen all the time, by men and women of all ages, it becomes acceptable, endangering women in real life as well.

Here an incapacitated woman appears in her underwear, on top of a car, with a tie acting as a noose around her neck. Behind her stands a fully and well dressed man who appears to be proud of what he has done. This gives off the image that it is suave or hyper-masculine to take advantage of women in violent ways. Again, this violent ad is meant to sell clothing.
This ad, again for style accessories and apparel, shows a man aggressively grabbing a woman's face. This implies not only that he has control over her, but that he exerts his power violently and disrespectfully.
In this high fashion ad it appears as though this woman is about to be gang raped, for she is in a position of vulnerability, is being pinned down by one man, and the rest of the men in the picture are looking at her and closing in around her.
In this ad that is meant to sell liquor, a woman kneels in submission (again we only see a fragment of her body) and prepares to be "licked," "shot," and "bitten." She is not only in a sexual position (she is naked), but she is also in a position of vulnerability, and thus is subject to violence.
This simple animated ad aimed at teenagers simply shows a stick figure man threatening to shoot a stick figure woman. While this may appear harmless as it is animated, the ad implies not only that degrading women, referring to them as "bitch," and threatening them is fun and cool, but that by purchasing "bitch skateboards" one may be able to embody such an attitude.
